Originated from predictions by renowned figures in the steel industry, Mr. Hsu Lun and Mr. Huang Shun-tien, who foresaw significant economic growth in Taiwan, particularly in the construction and real estate sectors. This prediction led to a surge in demand for raw materials such as aluminium doors and windows. For this reason, in 1969, Ta Tung aluminium Co., Ltd., together with construction industry figures Yang Wen-sheng and Chen Rang, and pharmaceutical industry figure Zhang Tian-de, raised funds and established the company in October of the same year at 2nd Floor, No. 85, Nanjing West Road, Taipei City. The factory was located in the Neili Industrial Park, Taoyuan. In 1991, Ta Tung broke through technological barriers and became the first domestic company to launch a "new patented aluminium window with removable inner sash," significantly improving the safety of cleaning building glass. Subsequently, the company launched the 870 series, 1270 series, 895 series, 1095 series, and the Athens series, making it the aluminium door and window company in Taiwan with the most diverse window product lines. |
Expanding the Factory Southward

In 1998, Mr. Hsu Jui-ching retired from his position as Chairman and Mr. Chang Ming-ching retired from his position as General Manager. Mr. Chang Han-chung was appointed Chairman. In 1999, Mr. Chang Han-chung made a major decision to relocate the factory from the Zhongli Industrial Park to the Minxiong Industrial Park in Chiayi, expanding the factory facilities and recruiting talented young people to continue focusing on Research&Development and manufacturing technology improvement to meet market demands.

Focusing on aluminium Door and Window Craftsmanship In recent years, with the proliferation of luxury residences, the Taiwanese aluminium door and window market has become increasingly sophisticated. Ta Tung deeply understands that in addition to airtight and watertight functions, it is also essential to focus on aesthetic design to meet the market demand for visual appeal. Therefore, it has long invested heavily in Research&Development for both beautiful and practical designs. In 2011, Ta Tung aluminium won the German iF Product Design Award, often referred to as the "Oscar of Industrial Design," becoming the first and only company in the domestic aluminium industry to receive this honor, and its Research&Development efforts have been internationally recognized. In the same year, to enhance the weather resistance of its products, Ta Tung aluminium, under a research program funded by the Institute for Information Industry (III) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, collaborated with the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at National Tsing Hua University to study the structure and strength analysis of extruded materials. Simultaneously, it partnered with the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) to research the weather resistance and anti-fouling properties of surface coatings. The research resulted in the surface-coated high-weather-resistant aluminium profiles obtaining the "Nano Mark Usage Certificate" from the Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. |

Large Scale Investment in Equipment In addition to focusing on Research&Development advancements, Ta Tung also made significant investments in hardware and software equipment in 2012. On the hardware side, Ta Tung acquired a 3000T extrusion machine from Ube Industries, Inc. of Japan. This machine can produce 10-inch ingots, with a production efficiency exceeding 1000 kg/hour, and a maximum extruded cross-sectional size of 400mm x 60mm. On the software side, the company's computer system underwent a complete overhaul, implementing the world-class ERP software – Oracle. Leveraging the experience of other large companies in implementing enterprise reengineering, all of Ta Tung processes were restructured and resources reallocated, integrating the entire process from supplier procurement to customer order fulfillment. This increased transparency and enabled efficient information exchange between the front and back ends, providing customers with better service. |

Aligning with International Standards In 2012, a joint venture, Sankyo Ta Tung aluminium Co., Ltd., was established in Taiwan with the major Japanese manufacturer Sankyo Tateyama. Chairman Chang Han-chung sent several groups of core management personnel to Sankyo in Japan for further training in manufacturing technology and management models, thereby enhancing the quality of Research&Development personnel and the company's international perspective. In 2014, the Ta Tung Luxury Residence series was launched, offering craftsmanship quality aluminium doors and windows to meet the market's demand for aesthetically pleasing living spaces. |
